Written scope within 48 hours

Design that engineers can ship, not a deck that sits in Drive.

We design product experiences for SaaS and web teams: flows, prototypes and systems that survive handoff to engineering without reinterpretation.

Nobody budgets for the hours already being lost. Tell us the outcome: you get a written scope within 48 hours.

Why teams call us

Three ways a product ends up needing a real design pass.

Every UI/UX engagement we take on starts from one of these. Recognise yours and the rest of this page gets more useful.

  • Designs do not survive the handoff

A Figma file looks finished until an engineer opens it and finds three different button styles and no states for empty, loading or error.

Ship a system engineers can build from, not reinterpret.

  • Users churn before they finish onboarding

The product works. Getting a new user from signup to their first useful action does not, and nobody has measured where they drop off.

Fix the flow the data says is actually broken.

  • The interface has grown one screen at a time

Eighteen months of shipping fast has left four different card styles and two different date pickers doing the same job.

Consolidate into one design system, then keep shipping.

What you actually get

Six things you can hold, not a moodboard.

Anyone can put together a moodboard. These are the artefacts that land in your hands designing a product, and roughly when.

  1. A written scope, before anything is designed

Which flows we are redesigning first, what research we are running and what we are deliberately leaving for a later pass.

  2. A clickable prototype in week one or two

Real, navigable screens for your actual flow, ready to put in front of users before an engineer writes a line of code.

  3. A usability test with real users

Five to eight sessions on the redesigned flow, recorded, with the friction points written up, not guessed at.

  4. A design system, not a one-off screen

Components, tokens and states (empty, loading, error) documented so the next screen matches the first one without asking.

  5. Developer-ready specs and handoff

Redlines, spacing and states in Figma dev mode, so engineering builds what was designed, not their best guess at it.

  6. A walkthrough with your engineering team

A recorded session covering every screen and edge case, so nothing gets lost between the file and the build.

What it costs

Three ways to start, priced honestly.

Ranges, not single numbers, because the real figure depends on integrations and migration scope. You get the exact number in writing after one call.

  • Launch

One flow redesigned and ready to build.

    Investment

    From mid four figures USD

    Timeline

    6–8 weeks

    • Discovery and written scope
    • User research or a usability audit
    • Clickable prototype of the core flow
    • A starter design system: components and tokens
    • Developer handoff in Figma dev mode
    • 30 days of design support post-handoff

For teams redesigning one flow or validating a new product with users.

    Start with Launch
  • Most chosen

    Scale

A full product redesigned into one design system.

    Investment

    From low five figures USD

    Timeline

    10–14 weeks

    • Everything in Launch
    • Two to four core flows redesigned
    • A complete, documented design system
    • Usability testing with real users
    • Empty, loading and error states for every screen
    • Fortnightly reviews with your team

For teams consolidating a product that has grown one screen at a time.

    Start with Scale
  • Platform

A standing design partner as the product grows.

    Investment

    Retainer or dedicated pod

    Timeline

    Ongoing

    • Everything in Scale
    • Named lead designer
    • New features designed against the existing system
    • Quarterly usability audits
    • Design system maintained as the product changes
    • Roadmap planned quarter by quarter

For products where design does not stop at the first release.

    Start with Platform

Ranges reflect projects delivered in 2025–26 and move with integrations, data migration and compliance scope. Every engagement starts with a written scope listing exactly what is included and what is not.

How it runs

From first call to a shipped design system in four moves.

The same process on every design engagement, whichever package you start from. Design sits at the front of the process from first call to release, and hands engineering specs it can build without guessing.

  1. Discovery call

A working call about the users, the flow and what is actually breaking today. Not a pitch.

    Day 1–3

  2. Written scope & price

Research plan, flows in scope and a price range you can take to your board.

    Within 48 hours

  3. Research, wireframes & prototype

User interviews or usability testing where useful, then wireframes and a clickable prototype.

    Week 1 onward

  4. Design system & handoff

Final screens, a documented design system and a recorded walkthrough for engineering.

    Handoff week

Proof

Three products we designed that survived the handoff to engineering.

Different sectors, same discipline: research first, a documented system, and nothing built from memory.

How we work

A product engineering culture built on ownership and clarity.

The habits that decide whether software still works in year three. Here is the honest comparison: what most outsourced engagements look like, and what changes when you work with us.

How an engagement with QalbIT compares
The questionThe usual answerAt QalbIT
Who scopes itA salesperson, then a handover docThe founder and the engineer who will build it
Who writes the codeWhoever is on the bench that monthNamed senior engineers, in our office, no subcontractors
What you see weeklyA status deck and a percentageA working demo and the board it came from
When something breaksA ticket queue and an account managerThe engineer who wrote it, in your timezone overlap
If you want to leaveA migration project and a licence conversationThirty days notice · repos and IP were always yours
  • Principle 01

    Ownership over ticket-taking

Engineers who ask why before they ask which framework. Scope questions come back before code goes out.

  • Principle 02

    Written over remembered

Scope, estimates and architecture decisions are written down with the trade-off stated. Nobody relies on what was said on a call.

  • Principle 03

    Small over staffed

Senior pods that hold the whole system in their heads beat large mixed teams that need a coordinator to function.

Engagement models

Flexible engagement models.

Choose how you want to work with us based on where your product is today. We help you validate, ship and then scale without forcing you into a one-size-fits-all model, and how we price projects follows the model you pick.

  • Best for defined scope

    Fixed-scope projects

Best when requirements are clear and we can estimate precisely.

    • Clearly defined scope, milestones and deliverables.
    • Predictable budget with upfront estimates.
    • Ideal for MVPs and discrete feature releases.

Works well with good documentation or a short discovery

  • Most chosen

    Dedicated product squad

A cross-functional team that behaves like your in-house product team.

    • Stable team for long-term ownership and roadmaps.
    • Capacity planned monthly with clear velocity.
    • Founder involvement on architecture and key decisions.

When software is core to your business

  • Best for ongoing work

    Time & material / Agile

Ideal for ongoing iterations, R&D and integrations.

    • Pay for actual engineering and design time used.
    • Flexible backlog and scope, prioritised every sprint.
    • Perfect for experiments and proof-of-concepts.

When agility matters more than fixed scope

What protects you

Five commitments that make your first design engagement low risk.

The objections worth raising before you sign anything, answered up front rather than buried in a contract.

  • Free written scope

Scope, timeline and price range within 48 hours, yours to keep whether or not you hire us.

  • Files and system yours, day one

Figma files and the design system in your workspace under NDA, with edit access from week one.

  • Changes quoted in writing

Added scope is priced and approved before it is built. The number never moves quietly.

  • Replacement guarantee

If a designer is not the right fit we replace them at no recruitment cost, with handover before they leave.

  • 30 days notice

Monthly engagements end or scale down with 30 days notice. No annual lock-in.

Launch, one flow scoped and redesigned, starts from mid four figures USD. Scale, a full product turned into one documented design system, starts from low five figures USD. The written scope after your first call narrows that to a firm number and lists exactly what research and how many screens it covers.
A single flow runs 6 to 8 weeks from discovery to developer handoff. A full product redesign with usability testing and a complete design system runs 10 to 14 weeks. You see a clickable prototype in week one, before any visual design is finalised.
Yes. The Figma workspace, the design system and every file in it sit under your account under NDA, with edit access from week one. There is no licence on the system itself and nothing to renegotiate if you move to an in-house designer later.
Revisions happen inside the fortnightly review cadence rather than as a counted allowance: you see the work every two weeks and flag changes before the next round starts, so nothing gets finalised without a check-in. Scope added after research is complete, not refinement of what is already agreed, is quoted separately in writing.
Both, and research comes first where it changes the outcome. Launch includes user research or a usability audit before wireframes start. Scale adds usability testing with 5 to 8 real users on the redesigned flow, recorded, with friction points written up rather than guessed at.
Redlines, spacing, component states and tokens in Figma dev mode, plus a recorded walkthrough with your engineering team covering every screen and edge case. The goal is that engineers build what was designed instead of their best guess at a static file.
One flow is exactly what the Launch band is built for: onboarding, checkout or whichever screen is losing users, scoped and shipped on its own. Consolidating the whole product into one system is Scale, and most clients start with the flow that hurts most and expand from there.
No. A starter design system, components, tokens and states for empty, loading and error, is part of the Launch band, so there is a documented foundation even if none existed before. It is deliberately not a full brand identity project; if you need that separately we will say so up front.
No, delivery is Figma files, a prototype and a documented system, not production code. Where you want the same team to build what was designed, that is our custom web development or MVP development service running against the handoff files, scoped and priced separately.
Nothing is owed after handoff, the files and system are yours to run with. Most clients keep a small design retainer for new features designed against the existing system and a quarterly usability audit, which ends or scales down on 30 days notice.
